Project ARM (Anti Retroviral Man)
Description
Since 2011, I was involved in the production of documentaries and animations on the production of ARM as an artist at Art4art project. I was dispatched from UNESCO to work at Kafue. I went to Lusaka on every weekends and continued to make project records and animation.
저는 2011년 부터 Art4art 프로젝트의 작가로서 ARM 조형물제작에 대한 다큐멘터리 제작 및 애니메이션 제작에 참여하게 되었습니다. 저는 당시 유네스코에서 파견되어 Kafue에서 일을하고 있었는데 주말마다 루사카로 가서 프로젝트의 기록과 애니메이션 제작을 지속적으로 진행하여 전시까지 참여하였습니다.
The Anti Retroviral Man Cartoon
Art4art has created a cartoon around the idea of a superhero who champions antiretroviral treatment. Our aim is to target this cartoon at children from the age of 6 to 18. The cartoon will be used as a vehicle for AIDS related messages. Children will easily pick up the message of how anti retroviral treatment not only makes you healthy but also can make you into a superhero. Cartoons can be an useful and effective tool in the prevention of HIV infection. Many AIDS related issues can be addressed in a effective way by AntiRetroviral Man.
In episode one the birth of a superhero the public is introduced to little Musa a boy in Lusaka who has found out he is HIV positive. He is desperate and ready to give up. He is saved by AntiRetroviral Man who explains to him how he coped with the disease and how he became a super hero: faster, stronger and better, Yes folks! how he became the AntiRetroviral Man. Children will easily pick up the message of how anti retroviral treatment not only makes you healthy but also can make you into a superhero.
ARM 만화 시리즈
HIV/AIDS는 완치될 수 있는 치료법이 아직 개발되지 않았습니다. HIV는 우리몸의 면역체계를 파괴해 합병증(AIDS)을 일으켜 사망에 까지 이르게 하는 심각한 바이러스입니다. 이렇게 무서운 병임에도 불구하고 부족한 정보와 수많은 루머들로 인해 많은 사람들이 약복용을 거부하여 사망하는 사례들이 많습니다.
이 작업은 Art4art라는 그룹과 함께 작업한 애니메이션으로 HIV/AIDS에 대항할 수 있는 약복용을 지지하기 위해 제작되었습니다. 목표타켓층은 6 세에서 18 세 사이의 아이들로 HIV/ADIS 관련 메시지를 전달하는 수단으로 사용됩니다. 이 만화를 통해 아이들은 쉽게 항 레트로 바이러스 치료를 통해 건강을 지킬뿐만 아니라 슈퍼 영웅으로 만들 수 있다는 메시지를 쉽게 받아 볼 수 있습니다. 만화는 HIV 감염 예방에 유용하고 효과적인 도구가 될 수 있습니다. 많은 에이즈 관련 문제는 ARM (AntiRetroviral Man)이 효과적인 방법으로 해결할 수 있습니다.
에피소트 1편에서는 슈퍼히어로 ARM의 탄생에 대한 이야기를 다루고 있습니다. 잠비아의 수도 루사카에서 삶을 포기한 무사라는 아이가 ARM의 도움으로 살아갈 수 있는 길을 찾는다는 내용입니다.

ARM은 HIV/ADIS와 싸우고 있는사람들에게 큰 힘이 되어주며 긍정의 힘으로 이 난관을 함께 해쳐나가고자 합니다. 잠비아는 사하라 사막 이남 지역에서 에이즈 전염병에 가장 큰 타격을 입은 국가 중 하나입니다. 2007 년 실시 된 마지막 잠비아 인구 통계 건강 조사에 따르면 잠비아의 성인 HIV 보급률은 14 %로 추정됩니다.
현재 ARM 조형물은 잠비아 국립박물관 앞에 위치하며 도시에서 바쁜일상을 살아가는 시민들에게 HIV/ADIS의 위험을 알리고 함께 싸우는 정의의 심볼로 긍정의 에너지를 전파하고 있습니다.

About Sculpture
Anti retroviral Man Too positive to be doubtful Too optimistic to be fearful And too determined to be defeated. Zambia is one of the countries in the Sub Saharan region hardest hit by the AIDS pandemic. The last Zambian Demographic Health Survey which was conducted in 2007, estimated the adult HIV prevalence rate in Zambia to be 14%.
Currently, the ARM sculpture is located in front of the National Museum of Zambia and spreads the positive energy through the symbols of justice, which tells citizens living in busy urban life about the dangers of HIV / ADIS and fighting together.
